About Alaska Center for Resource Families
Together, we’re building stronger families and brighter futures across the state.
Alaska Center for Resource Families (ACRF) supports foster, adoptive, guardianship, and kinship families across Alaska. We provide essential training, resources, and guidance to ensure safe, loving homes for children and youth in foster care.
ACRF is a nonprofit child welfare organization, funded by the State of Alaska, private foundations, and individual donors. We are part of Northwest Resource Associates family of programs.
We are proud to serve the Alaskan families and to stand alongside the dedicated network of caregivers, advocates, and professionals working to ensure every child and youth in foster care experiences safety, stability, and love.

Our history
Established in 1988 as the Alaska Foster Parent Training Center.
Expanded in 1993 with offices in Fairbanks, Anchorage, and Juneau (Mat-Su added in 2006; Juneau closed in 2017).
Renamed in 2006 to reflect a broader mission encompassing services for all Alaska foster, adoptive, and kinship families.
Today and beyond we continue to expand training offerings and provide services that meet the needs of children, youth, and families.
